It was only a dream

He sat there quiet observing the world. Out of a large window that was streaked with dry water when the sunlight came across it. On the other side it was silent as if the world stopped moving. He took a deep breath and let the condensation hit the window. He looked out sad and decided to walk away.

He opened the door and went outside a few steps in the sun decided to break through the clouds that resided behind him. He didn't think too much of it as he lit his cigarette and stood in the middle of the walkway. He kept walking forward until something stopped him in his tracks.

He seen her walking up the driveway with tears in her eyes. He watched intently as she pressed on. He managed to find a couple of seconds in the moment to ash his cigarette. She made her way across the grass in his direction and continued on until she was about a foot away from him. She looked down and wiped her eyes. All he could do is stand there and say nothing as he let her grieve.

She finally looked up at him and gazed into his eyes, as he continued to stand there cold and in thought, as he got lost in the world. She preceded t take a few steps to the side and continued to walk on breaking her gaze into his soul. He had promptly decided to turn around watching her press on to the porch, he noticed her strides were short and she occasionally looked around.

Once she reached the first step of the porch and stopped ashes looked back and caught him staring for the last time. The world had stopped again and the sun receded back into the clouds. Tears flooded his eyes forcing him to look away, only to find her gone as he quickly looked back. He continued with his cigarette and took a deep breath as he wiped his tears. All that was left was him and the silence.
